Disney cloning faces?

Disney has shown this technology last week in LA on the computer graphics fair SIGGRAPH. This was made by Disney Research , the laboratory is owned by ‘The Mouse House’. The project is called Physical Face Cloning and its a fast, easy and fairly cheap way of transfering facial expressions in to digital form.
This is a realy tough task to perform. People have seen this face to face standing in front of virtual reality mirrors in which they could see the digital version of themselfs. Swiss Disneys are realy capable in the way of removing all hair from the face and head, then recontruct how the muscles look under the skin, transfering that into digital form and then putting the hair back on to the virtual model.
So what’s the point of this whole sharade? Well, Disney sais that it’s to create perfect animatronic robots – just like the dream was of old Walt (God rest his soul). This kind of robots you can see in Disneyworld, but it’s very surprising that Disney isn’t using this technology elsewhere.
